Save The Camping for the Mountains
Cannon Beach has responded to at least two matters where people have chosen to camp within the city limits. With our high traffic season approaching, this is guaranteed not be the last two that CBPD will be responding to and notifying of the basic rule to not camp in city limits.
Days at the beach are a blast! Adding a camp like experience to the fun would seem like a completion of a ones beach day, but the truth of the matter is every beach day must come to an end. This means all persons intending to sleep on the beach (which is in city limits) must find somewhere else to go.
Hotels, Campgrounds, or Home
There are plenty of options for people to lodge while on their getaway to Cannon Beach. The city hosts several hotels, has at least 2 bordering campgrounds close by, or due to the close proximity of Highway 26, traveling folks can simply make the journey back to their homes.
For the people who are not aware of the city laws regarding camping or simply choose to ignore them, more than likely they will be approached by one of Cannon Beach’s police officers and a warning may not always be the go-to solution. Either way a move along notification will be delivered in one way or another.
The Cannon Beach Police Department is very pro active in ensuring the safety of the city citizens and tourists and enforcing the laws that make enjoying the city even more enjoyable.
