By Jordane Lampi

Lady Warriors prevailed with a hard-fought 65-56 win over De La Salle. Valentine’s Day did not deter the loyal Warrenton crowd from Tuesday night’s playoff matchup, as they watched their team control the lead from the start.

“We all knew that it would be a tough game,” senior Krista Morrill stated, “but all the girls on our team worked so hard and played for each other. Games like this are the best when everyone on the team and in the crowd are excited and constantly cheering, especially when we come out of a fight with a win.”

Assistant Coach Michael Slivkoff added that he’s “Really proud of our ladies, especially our three Seniors. Katy Blodgett, Landree Miethe, and Krista Morill have been working for this since their sophomore year, when we struggled to 2 wins and 22 losses. To see them battle through all that adversity, and get the first Warrenton High playoff win in years is really special. I am grateful to God for the privilege of being part of their lives and this team. It’s been a highlight for me these last three years. Our game this Thursday night against Portland Christian is going to be a battle! I’d love to see our ladies win and go on to state playoffs!

Landree Miethe knocked down 19 points with solid drives and lead-defining threes, followed by Tyla Little’s 15-point game. From the bench, Fernanda Alvarez added 4 points and paramount assistance down low with rebounding.

“I am really proud of the game we played tonight. Landree Miethe made a play every time we needed one, Tyla Little had a complete game, and Krista Morrill played tough on both ends. Claire Bussert handled everything they threw at her, and I’m so proud of how she managed the game. Everyone who played did a great job and we are excited for Thursday.” – Head Coach Robert Hoepfl

Lady Warriors travel to take on Portland Christian, Thursday, February 16th,
