2021 Live in-Person Holiday Events on The North Coast
As things slowly begin to re-open and we look forward to having the pandemic behind us, some of you might be wondering about in-person Holiday events for 2021. Where can you find family-friendly holiday events in Clatsop County and the north coast? You’re in the right place! Fun is food for the soul! Read on to find some fun-filled Holiday activities on the north coast, and then get out there and show your support.
Holidays at the Beach
Holidays at the Beach on the Long Beach Peninsula will return this year. On Friday, November 26th, enjoy the movie “The Polar Express” at the Neptune Theater with two showings, one at 10:30 and one at 1:00. Don’t forget to wear your pajamas and bring some canned food for the local food bank! Also, on Friday the 26th is Reindeer Trot, a 1/2 mile run for fun! Run into the Sunset at 4:30 pm underneath the Long Beach Arch!
On Saturday, November 27th, don’t miss the arrival of Santa Clause outside the new location of the Long Beach Visitor’s Center at 3:00 pm. At 6:30, watch Santa Clause light the Christmas Tree downtown! Sunday, November 28th, you can meet the Christmas Mermaid from 12:00-2:00 outside the Long Beach Visitor’s Center. AND A BIG DO NOT MISS….the annual Crabpot Christmas tree lighting and parade in Ilwaco December 4th., 5pm.
Seaside Parade of Lights
The always popular Seaside Parade of Lights scheduled for Fri, Nov 26, 7 AM – 8 PM begins with the lighting of the community tree as the official start of the holiday season in Seaside each year. Find a spot downtown and watch in glee as the parade strolls by with festive lights, costumes, and displays! The parade starts at 7:00, and afterward, stick around for the Community Tree Lighting in downtown Seaside!
Haystack Holidays
There’s nothing like celebrating the holiday season in Cannon Beach. From its unique specialty shops, boutiques, and galleries to the warmth of the community that makes everyone feel welcome, there is a long list of Haystack Holiday events. These are just a few. The Holiday Wreath Making Classes are Saturday, November 27th and December 4th, from 11:00 – 3:00 pm. at the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce. This wreath-making event includes an instructor, refreshments, and holiday music!
Holiday Crafting at Child’s Play is December 1st – 23rd. You and the kids can stop by and decorate a Christmas glass ornament, pom-pom Christmas trees, and Christmas wood signs adorned with twinkle lights. For more details, visit achildsplay.com.
The annual Lamp Lighting Ceremony is Saturday, December 4th at 4:00 pm. Meet in Sandpiper Square for a tender Cannon Beach Christmas experience and beloved holiday tradition to enjoy festive music, singing, and special guests.
Join in holiday caroling on Thursday, December 23rd, from 5:00 -6:00 pm. You can help with this time-honored tradition and spread yuletide cheer downtown. The group starts at the Chamber and goes through downtown ending for hot chocolate at the Cannon Beach Chocolate Café.
