Today was a big day for a couple of Warrenton High School Senior baseball players.
Both Jake Morrow and Austin Little signed National letters of intent to play baseball for Linn Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon.
With the signing comes a 2-year full ride academic scholarship in exchange for playing baseball for Linn Benton. That will include schooling , lodging and meals.
Jake Morrow’s mom shared “We are so excited for the boys to play at Linn Benton. We are particularly excited to be a part of a program that not only looks at them as Students first, Athletes second as opposed to Athletes first and Students second. For the first school quarter, Jake Morrow currently has a 4.0 GPA and Austin Little a 3.86. The program will have heavy academic support as well as a baseball program that will allow them to play some higher-level games, which will only help to grow them as players.”
The northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington area has proven to be a gold mine for players for Linn Benton. In addition to Morrow and Little, Linn Benton will be signing with Dylan Rush of Astoria, Ethan Lindstrom from Naselle, and Dawson Everson from Clatskanine.
The signing ceremonies for these other players is to be announced.
**On a side note, Football player Sam Irwin ( see photos), was just announced to the First Team All State Football team for his play as an Offensive Lineman. And 3rd team All State Defensive Lineman. It is the first WHS football player to be named to the First Team All State in 15 years! Congratulations to all !
