Alissa Trotter loved her first job in high school, as a barista for Human Bean, so much, that the first chance she got she bought a franchise.” . Since September of 2018, when she served her first delicious cup of steaming coffee as an owner of Human Bean in Warrenton, she has been building her team and giving back to the community she adores.
She is a proud member and Ambassador of the Astoria Warrenton Chamber of Commerce and a Rotarian in the Seaside Rotary. She is also a mentor for the Regatta Court. It’s not easy to juggle all of her responsibilities, but helping others is as important to Alissa as brewing up the perfect cup of coffee.
Human Bean now has 85 locations nationwide, and even though the location in Warrenton is only one stand, she’s thrilled to help make a difference. The company’s signature donation day event, in October, is “Coffee for a Cure,” and through its efforts has raised over $1 million to help people struggling with breast cancer, and to help fund essential research. 100% of the sales is donated to support local women at the Seaside Providence Hospital. Alissa’s team of 10 proudly raised over $3,500 during the event, and is looking forward to increasing that amount this year. Recently, Human Bean enjoyed being a sponsor for of the Autism Color Run, and next month they are sponsoring the Safe and Sober Party for local high school seniors.
There are other things that make Human Bean different than other coffee stands. They offer a wide variety of sugar free flavors that are sweetened with Splenda. From coconut to strawberry or cherry, you can order a sugar free smoothie, or your favorite flavored coffee without all the sugar.
Human Bean loves it when children and dogs come to the drive through. They always have a treat ready for your four- legged family members, and you can get the kids a Little Bean drink of hot chocolate for only $2.00. Alissa says that Human Bean sources only the finest and freshest coffee and espresso beans through a program they call “Farm Friendly Direct” which is solely for their beans.
