The Naselle Community Center held its 2nd event on Saturday, March 30th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Artists came from Longview, Astoria, Ilwaco and Naselle to display and sell their beautiful pieces of Art. Framed and matted paintings, drawings and prints were beautifully displayed upstairs while homemade jewelry, woven baskets and photography Art was downstairs.
Local community members provided delicious open-faced sandwiches, local homemade Apple Cider and wine samples. Visitors came from local communities as well as the surrounding communities. People came from Raymond, South Bend, Astoria, Long Beach, Ilwaco, Longview, Cathlamet, Grays River, Puget Island, Rosburg and even the Seattle area. Visitors enjoyed viewing and purchasing pieces of Art, and took part in the local fare, while visiting with others.
Donations were given by many who attended to help with the continued support of this new Community Center venture. We thank everyone for their help, assistance and support!!
The next event at the new Naselle Community Center is coming up!! The 2nd concert held here at the center will be on Saturday, May 4th and will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by desserts and coffee downstairs. The concert will feature
Carl Wirkkala and his cousin Lucas Homgren. They will be singing original country music songs and playing acousitc guitars. Also featured will be Kim Angelis on violin and Jennifer Goodenberger on piano. They will share numbers from their recent tour, including some piano music from the famous Finnish composer John Sibelius. Also featured will be Pastor Anna Haugen from the Naselle Lutheran Church and her Woodwind ensemble from the Astoria Philharmonic. This will be a benefit concert to help offset costs for upgrading the new center.
