The highly anticipated community event, A Sweet Affaire, is happening once again on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center. The event features live music, wine and beer tasting, non-alcoholic beverage tasting, appetizers, fine chocolates, auction items and coveted raffle prizes. Proceeds from the evening will be used to support Sunset Parks and Rotary Foundation’s school, community and scholarship programs.
Youth and adults have been able to access positive recreation through funding from the Sunset Empire Park and Recreation and Rotary Foundations. Proceeds generated from A Sweet Affaire will be used to support programs that award college scholarships to high school students, provide a safe high school graduation party and enable community member access to activities such as swimming lessons, senior aquatics, after-school care, art enrichment and summer camps. In addition, over 300 families have received holiday gifts and food through Sunset Park and Rotary programs. Participation in this event will support a wide variety of activities, services and programs from sheltering homeless, providing food to the hungry, lighting Broadway field and will allow Sunset Parks and Rotary Programs to truly make a difference in the lives of community members.
For a decade, local chefs, restaurateurs, vintners and brewers have come together to prepare and donate their delectable preparations for A Sweet Affaire. Listen to the live pianist while enjoying small bite appetizers, specialty desserts and beverages. Participate in the silent and live auctions and bid on a wide variety of prizes, activity packages, and gift certificates all donated by local restaurants and businesses.
Prizes that will be available in the auction and raffle range from unlimited movie passes, bowling parties, zip line tours, helicopter rides and the coveted special trip to Victoria British Columbia for two. The Opportunity Drawing will feature a getaway to Victoria, which will include a hotel stay for two nights, tea service for two and vouchers for Butchart Gardens, Ferry Transport, champagne, and truffles – a prize valued at over $2,500!
A Sweet Affaire will be an exciting, fun-filled, adult event for a worthy cause! Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the Sunset Pool, the Bob Chisholm Community Center, from a Seaside Rotary member, or on the Sunset Empire Park + Recreation District website.
