Woman’s Body Found

Woman’s Body Found in

Chinook Still Unidentified

On Tuesday at 7pm, Pacific County Dispatch received a call reporting someone had found human remains on a rocky beach in Chinook Washington.

Resident Ken Walters was out walking his dog when he came upon the body. After getting closer he determined it resembled the remains of a woman. He summoned the help of a neighbor and then they contacted 911.

Deputies upon arrival did in fact determine the body was an unidentified female that had washed ashore. It appeared the body had been in the water for a long time and decomposition was such that it made identification impossible.

Pacific County Sheriff’s Office Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Matlock stated, “The body had no ID, and we will have to do some forensic work to try to find out who this woman was.  The tides and strong storms we have had create a lot of possible scenarios of where she could have originated. She does not appear to connect with any of the missing person reports from our neighboring counties but we are still checking with other agencies.  However, there were some partially visible tattoos that might give us a lead. This will take us a while to figure out.”
