Lawrence ‘Larry’ Pfund

Lawrence Alan Pfund, 59, passed away in his sleep Monday morning, Feb. 20, at his home in Warrenton, Oregon.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elaine Pfund; his children, Rachel, Nate and his wife, Carla, Natalie, Jeannie, Tessa, Josiah and Jason; his niece, Dawn Pfund; and his nephews, Damon Semingson and Wesley Pfund.
Born and raised in Gearhart, Oregon, the son of Wesley (Hank) and Jean Pfund; brother to Leonard and Gerald Pfund. He was a lifelong resident of Clatsop County.
He worked as a logger, fisherman, scuba diver, welder, closet sword fighter, heavy equipment mechanic, pastor, uplifting eulogy minister, and Port commissioner.
His hobbies were storytelling of memories, facts, fiction and utter hogwash to keep listeners on their toes. He enjoyed studying historical literature, politics and astronomy. He loved hunting, and had a refined taste for music and thoughtful lyrics. He assisted youth sports, youth ministry, and supported his seven children’s sports endeavors. He admired nature as God’s masterpiece.
His legacy beyond being an excellent father was the ability to change the atmosphere of any room with his stories, endless pranks, humor and encouragement.
