One of the coolest elements of downtown Astoria are the underground tunnels and of course are building structures. Astoria has been a visibly pleasant city because of these two cultural norms here in our region of the Oregon coast.
With the underground tunnel system, many know it is there, but very few have had the opportunity to explore it. However, there is limited access to the underground system. In order to have access, one has to get approved by the city of Astoria beforehand. This week, Astoria Police Department responded to reports of 2 transients under the sidewalks as well as the building located at 1606 Marine Drive being graffiti’d.
Two Events and No Relation
What makes the events interesting is that there is no evidence to suggest that both crimes are related or unrelated, it’s a mystery for now. At this time, there are no further details, but as soon as we hear of any updates, you will be the first to know.
