Scholarship Pageant 2017

The Miss Clatsop County Scholarship Pageant has 15 young women competing for 3 titles Saturday March 11, 2017.  As the official preliminary competition to the Miss Oregon Scholarship Competition and Miss America Organization, the lucky few to win the crown titles will win thousands in scholarships, gain critical professional skills, and make personal and professional connections that will last a lifetime.

In the 2016 competition, over $8000 in scholarships were awarded to the Outstanding Teen and Miss Clatsop County winners who were able to shine as well rounded, goal oriented, talented young women.  There will be 11 teen contestants from Clatsop and Columbia counties competing for Clatsop County Outstanding Teen and North Coast Outstanding Teen titles, while 4 contestants will be in the running for Miss Clatsop County 2017.  

To participate, each contestant selected a social platform which they will present to the judges and community.  This year’s platforms range from animal welfare, literacy, educational arts programs, mental health and more, showcasing how exceptional and thoughtful the 2017 group of young women are.

A Friday night Benefit Dinner at the Seaside Convention Center will kick-off the pageant weekend at 6pm.  Tickets to the dinner are $50 and will come with a reserved ticked to the show on Saturday night.  Saturday’s program will feature outgoing 2016 titleholders Miss Clatsop County Ryen Bys, Miss North Coast Tess Rund, Miss Clatsop County’s Outstanding Teen Caitlin Hillman, Miss North coast’s Outstanding Teen Nikkole Sasso, Miss Columbia- Pacific’s Outstanding Teen Taryn Miller, and Miss Oregon 2016 Alexis Mather of Astoria.  

Miss Clatsop County’s Princess Alissa Betts and 2016 Miss North Coast’s Princess Savana Pedraza will also do a random draw to select 1 of 16 princesses of 2017 (ages 6-12) to bring to the Miss Oregon state this summer.  This Miss Clatsop County Scholarship Pageant winners will go on to represent the county at the Miss Oregon pageant in June which will also be held at the Seaside Convention Center.
