Helps Spreads Info Like Wildfire

Warrenton Fire Department has implemented a sure fire way to respond to calls quickly and more efficiently. Recently, Active 911 was introduced to all members of the Warrenton Fire Department. Active 911 is an application that can be accessed by a cell phone as any other application would. When a report comes into dispatch, the information is input into the app and is transmitted directly to the members of WFD cell phones.

When the notification is received, it will provide the necessary information that the members of Warrenton Fire Department need to know. From there, the individual can communicate whether they are able to respond or unavailable. This feature alone innovates the response times and the improves communication between firefighters as well.. Because response times become more efficient, communication is clearer, and the readiness and preparation for each response is more efficient.

For fire departments, such as WFD, technological resources such as Active 911 creates a new way of volunteering that provides more effective public service to the communities which they serve. Unlike fire departments where the responders are paid and have set schedules, volunteer based departments have to depend on responders who choose to respond or not to respond (which is very common in volunteer fire organizations.) This resource is extremely helpful to Warrenton Fire Department so that they can continue to proudly serve the community as they have done for many years and will continue to do so for many more.
