OPB celebrates history and art
“Oregon Experience” was a previously aired program on OPB that documents and educates viewers on the historical developments of Astoria. The film featured interviews from several prominent members of the community and featured stunning filmography of historical happenings. “Oregon Art Beat: Art of Astoria” featured local artist Jill Mcvarish and showcased how Astoria has inspired her work. The special also shed light on the Portland Center Stage production titled “Astoria (Part One)” based on Peter Stark’s book about the historical development of Astoria and the testimonies of strength and survival that contributed to how our gem of a city came to be.
