James (Harry) Hulon, of Warrenton, OR passed away in Hillsboro on May 6, 2018 at the age of 83 years.

Harry was born in Chester, South Carolina on April 6, 1935 to Bessy and Jesse Hulon.   Preferring his middle over his given name, Harry (which everyone knew him as) was one of 11 children; having 7 brothers and 3 sisters.  At the age of 17, Harry (enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean War.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Harry found his way west to Oregon.  It was here that he met and married Donna Sue Schultz.  Getting work at Georgia Pacific Railway, meant moving to South Carolina for a spell.  Securing a position at the Astoria Plywood Mill brought them back to Oregon where he also spent several years commercial fishing on an old Columbia River Bowpicker.

When he wasn’t working Harry had several hobbies which included fishing, hunting & woodworking.  He and Donna raised 3 children and shared 50 years of marriage together before she preceded him in death in 2004.  He was generous with his time and ability to fix anything. He was a good man and a wonderful father and will be missed by all that got to know him. May you rest in peace Harry Hulon.

Harry is survived by his 3 children:  John & (Christine) Hulon of Knappa, OR; Jama Hulon & (Kimberly Zufolt) of Astoria OR; and Kathy Hulon of Warrenton, OR and two grandchildren: Travis Magers of Warrenton, OR and Whitney Hulon of Portland, OR.
