Astoria High School Seniors Craft with Kids at Home Depot

Danny McMahon and Luke Crews were surrounded by craft supplies on a recent Sunday morning.  Lisa Lamping stopped to chat with the two Astoria High School seniors during a visit to Home Depot in Warrenton.

High school seniors are required to complete a culminating project as part of their graduation requirements.  Danny and Luke opted to organize workshops for kids and are partnering with Home Depot to make projects available to Clatsop County children.

The duo invested about an hour to set up the tables, buckets, and craft supplies to build small wooden houses, shaped like gingerbread houses.  They will also lead a group of Head Start preschool children in the same craft during an upcoming field trip.

Along with being onsite, leading six crafts over the school year, the students will also write a paper and present their project to classmates and school board members to fulfill the graduation requirement.

Stop by the Warrenton Home Depot on January 6, 2018 to make a calendar with Danny and Luke.
