Renae M. Odegard-Carpenter
May 24, 1966 – November 9, 2017

When she returned to the Oregon coast, Renae began her career in Accounting for Edwin L. Luoma, CPA. While working full-time, she attended Linfield College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She has worked for TDM Enterprises for the last several years.

On July 31, 1999, Renae married James K. Carpenter, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Seaside.  Together they have two children, Mathew and Macie.

Renae volunteered in the classroom when both of her children attended grade school. She was at almost every practice, game, recital and concert they have had. She chaperoned dances and parties, even when the kids may not have wanted her there. She was so very proud to be a mom.

Family was always very important to Renae, and she was fiercely loyal to the people she loved. One of the greatest compliments she could ever give someone, relative or not, was that they were one of “her kids,” “her sisters,” or “her family.” This is a very large group of people and she never forgot a name or face.

Anyone that knew her can say, without a doubt, that she was tenacious and very strong. She was honest, loyal, smart, and a friend to everyone, but most of all she was kind.

She taught CCD in high school and then more recently for the First Communion class at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church for five years.  She loved to bake and sew. When family and friends were together she loved to play cards and games.

She is survived by her husband Jim; her children Mathew and Macie; her step-children Tasha Potter (Jason), and Tim Carpenter; her parents Orvis and Marian Odegard; her sisters Laurie Riser (Danny), Monica Odegard-Feuz (Don), Michelle Sanford (Wil); nieces Cali and Savannah; nephews Parker, Braxton and Tristan; and grandchildren Ryan and Maelah. She was predeceased by her brother Duane J. Odegard and stepson James D. Carpenter.

A viewing/visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Hughes-Ransom Mortuary Chapel, 200 N. Holladay Dr., Seaside.
