Injury Woes continue for Blazers

By Dave Nelson

Portland- Just when you think the injuries were over for the Trail Blazers, guess what? You thought wrong!

The team announced on Wednesday that, backup center Ed Davis will miss the remainder of the season, due to an upcoming surgery on his left shoulder.

Davis, per president of basketball operations Neil Olshey, will undergo arthroscopic surgery to repair an injured labrum. The team said, the injury took place during the 2015-2016 season, and has “progressively worsened.”

Meanwhile, guard Evan Turner will have his cast removed on Friday (March 3). Turner has been out of action since February 7, after breaking his right hand in a game against the Dallas Mavericks. Turner was originally expected to be out 5-6 weeks, and could return next week.

With the injury to Davis, recently acquired Jusuf Nurkic, and Meyers Leonard are the ones who will be seeing the minutes now at the position. Unless, a center is signed for the remainder of the season, which is possible.
