As the coming spring lengthens days, warms soil and allows us peeks of sunshine local farmers and The North Coast Food Web are gearing up for a large outdoor market.  Now in its seventh year, the River People Farmers Market hosted by the North Coast Food Web is in a new location that will allow for its new year-round market schedule!

The market will be held on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 2:30pm-5:30pm at the North Coast Food Web (NCFW) building at 577 18th Street in Astoria.  In an attempt to keep the hungry citizens of Clatsop and Pacific counties well fed and address the country-wide decline in attendance to farmers markets, the new model has an indoor market through the winter months that will expand outside during the summer.

The NCFW strives to ‘cultivate healthy communities and a vibrant economy through food and agriculture’ and the River People Farmers Market will enable a connection to food year round.  Be sure to check out their website www.northcoastfoodweb.org for upcoming events, the Tri-County Columbia Pacific Food Guide, classes and more!
