The Warrenton Police Department is a full-service agency that provides a diverse mixture of services including traffic enforcement, motor vehicle crash investigations, crime investigations, drug enforcement and investigations, crime prevention, and peace-keeping services for residents and visitors alike. The WPD is comprised of a chief, a sergeant, ten police officers, and one property/evidence clerk. One of the ten police officers is assigned as a K9 Officer and partners with the WPD K9 “Gabe.” The WPD provides several trainings, presentations, and information on multiple Community Policing topics like bike safety, substance abuse, active shooter response, Internet safety, special needs programs, and many more.
Warrenton is the fastest growing city on the North Coast and we continue our efforts to grow our public safety services in an effort to keep pace with this growth. The WPD provides 24-hour coverage and is dispatched through the Astoria 9-1-1 Dispatch Center in Astoria. Warrenton is also the home of two other law enforcement agencies including the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Police.
The City of Warrenton is rich in tradition with a very diverse economy, a strong sense of heritage, a dedication to family values, and a willingness to welcome visitors to share in these attributes. The Warrenton Police Department is committed to preserving all of these precious traits for generations to come. As the Chief of Police I am dedicated to keeping Warrenton safe and secure for its citizens and visitors alike. To successfully accomplish this task the WPD will partner with the citizens of Warrenton to reduce crime, increase safety, improve the livability of the community, and continue to make Warrenton attractive to visitors. Warrenton is a great place to raise a family and a very safe town for our children. Together we can sustain our community values for future generations to look toward Warrenton as their home.
