Little Ballet Theatre’s “The Nutcracker” Lands on the Stage this Weekend

Astoria High School will host Little Ballet Theatre’s “The Nutcracker” on December 2 and 3. The traditional ballet is a highlight for many Clatsop County families.  For more than four decades, the Maddox Dance Studio in Warrenton has performed the classic holiday ballet.

The ballet is accompanied by the Little Ballet Theatre Orchestra, directed by Cory Pederson. To have a full orchestra play alongside the dancers is a treat for families.

Arline LaMear, City of Astoria mayor, will also make an appearance in the opening scene.

After the Saturday and Sunday matinees, children in the audience will be invited to meet the cast.  Guests will also receive a candy cane from the Sugar Plum Fairy. Active-duty military members can receive a $1 discount on tickets for the Saturday matinee.  Ticket holders to the Saturday evening show will be invited to a cookie party in the commons area of Astoria High School following the performance.
