Obituary: Robert Charles Killion (March 28, 1939 – September 30, 2017)

Robert Charles Killion, 78, passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2017, from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Bob was born in Astoria, Oregon, to parents Dave Killion and Ruby (Cummins) Killion, who preceded him in death.
Bob was a 1957 graduate of Warrenton High School. Bob proudly served in the Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged, he worked in the lumber mill industry until Astoria Plywood Mill closed in 1990. He then made a career change and worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation until his retirement.

Bob loved hunting and fishing. He took pride in displaying his taxidermy trophies. Bob devoted a lot of time to the Masons, and achieved the rank of 32nd degree in the Masons. Bob is survived by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Cathie (Farrell) Killion. He has three children. His eldest son is Bobby Killion, and his wife, Terri, of Spokane, Washington. His younger son, Scott Killion, passed away in 2012. Bob also has a daughter, Sally Brown, and her wife, Joy, of Portland, Oregon. Bob has two granddaughters, Michelle Seguin and her husband, Alex, of Lynnwood, Washington, and Lindsay Killion-Funderburke and her husband, Dustin Funderburke, of Spokane, Washington. There is one great-granddaughter, Alexis Seguin.

Bob has five siblings. Two of his sisters, Dorothy Havner and Loretta Killion, have preceded him in death. Bob’s eldest brother, Bill Killion, has also passed. Bill was married to Ginger Killion of Beaverton, Oregon. His surviving siblings are his sister, Juana Killion of Longview, Washington, and younger brother, Dave C. Killion and his wife, Norma, of Warrenton, Oregon. Bob will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 33324 Patriot Way in Clatsop Plains, Warrenton, Oregon.
